AN ARTICLE FROM A LOCAL NEWSPAPER AUGUST 2010
THE McGOLDRICK PARTNERSHIP
Created by Richard Longley, owner of the legendary chaser Mister McGoldrick.
Richards idea, which is obviously working very well, is to purchase a well recommended National Hunt racehorse, then create 10 x 10% shares to form a syndicate in the name of "The McGoldrick Partnership."
However, unlike other syndicates/partnerships, Richards secret of success is that he is willing to back his own judgement by always retaining 20%....or 2 x 10% shares for himself, leaving a maximum of EIGHT shares available to new/existing members. This way each syndicate has an absolute maximum possible membership of NINE people (including Richard)
Some McGoldrick Partnerships have only FOUR or FIVE people involved due to multiple share purchases by members.
On average the cost is between £2,500 and £3,500 for a 10% ownership share in one of his horses, PLUS all inclusive monthly Training costs currently charged at £180 pcm per 10% share.
Every member is registered as an official part owner of his/her horse(s) and is entitled to exactly the same race day benefits as a person who owns a horse outright.
Richard readily admits he gets tremendous pleasure, as a part owner of each horse, from meeting up with fellow members on race days, and sharing with them over the winter months the highs and lows of the rollercoaster ride that is involvement in real ownership with National Hunt racing.

If you would like to see the last few furlongs of McG`s legendary Cheltenham victory in 2008, then go back to the "welcome" page and look below the video screen there, and you can click on the link shown to enable you to view. Even now I can`t believe the winning distance !!
Anyone who loves and supports National Hunt Racing will have watched that race and thought what a fantastic performance by the old boy, who at 11 years old was the oldest horse in the race, but put in arguably the best round of jumping of the whole meeting.
Then you look at the winning owners colours. No its not one of Paul Nicholls' owners. No its not Sir Robert Ogden's horse, or JP McManus`s, or Graham Wylie's or David Johnson's.
